So apparently, to be "good enough for hollywood", you have to be really articulate while saying "I stop like a game clock, which makes me go forward" along with 20 other oxymorons proving you're an idiot, under the pretense you're a sheltered, gullible human being, without making anyone actually think about what you're writing. Except for the fact if you did think about what's in the poem, you'd realize it makes no sense.
Here I am, ctriticizing my own artwork for my game before I sell it until it's absolutely the best I can make it, and while this admittedly articulate and hard-working, yet insanely counter-intuitive storywriter comes along, and is loved by everybody.
It's not jealousy, personally I dislike hollywood... but I'm extremely confused as to why that style of writing becomes a screenplay. Seriously, when you bend down to stand up, does that make sense to you?
I guess you could go Neil Gaiman and say "I went to the 'over the edge' " then proceed to explain that you will not describe where that is, indirectly, and make a bestseller.
Do you know what a Neil Gaiman fight scene is like? If not, imagine two guys repeating "I don't know what to do. What do you wanna do?" back and forth. But that's way more details and even progress than you'll ever see in American Gods (except for the first scene anyway). I shouldn't give him that much credit for much more than forcing himself to write an entire ...spewing of words... which is admittedly hard, any project to finish means you've achieved a new feeling of existence, and I do respect him on that level.
But yeah, why do "the masses" enjoy idiocy... but lately I've noticed, it's worse than that... I don't think "the masses" even care that they're reading garbage, as long as they don't have to think they seem happy. Who is they? 99 percent chance it's you, even me.
Hell, I watch family guy, but I don't see how that will ever benefit me. Most literature in fact, even if it's written well, has absolutely no benefit on my life. And I'm getting tired of it.
What is productive reading? I suppose, one that gives you something that lasts for eternity.
